About the project
This was Madewell, early days. Not the Madewell you know now — this was the relaunch of a workwear brand that dated back to 1937, brought back to life with just a handful of stores and a lot of hope. We were building the identity from scratch. Everything you’d come to associate with the brand — we were figuring that out in real time. Handmade signs, hand-bound lookbooks, letterpress invitations. A different era of design work.
